This one’s jam-packed with gems, each one enough to rev your training into overdrive. Don’t let Dan’s casual style fool you: What you’re getting from Dan is… brilliant.
Writes Byron Chandler, reviewing Dan’s dvd—
“Dan’s currently using a modern, competitive style of pulling and lifting, so you may wind up picking and choosing what parts are for you. The thing is, these differences are the fine points — learning how to pull weights off the ground and extend, getting the arms out of the pull, etc., are what you really need instruction to learn, and this DVD is the best thing available to people without a good instructor. There are not that many people who will even attempt to teach the quick lifts, and fewer than half of them are actually qualified. Dan’s the real deal.

This was the first Dan John product bought, and I have purchased more ever since. The information and content is wonderful and you get to see the Murray Institute for Lifetime Fitness.
If you’re wanting super fancy video productions with special sets and lighting, this is not for you.
I would put a caveat in that I bought this video before the popularity of instagram/youtube, and the rise of Spartan Race and Crossfit, and many of the things in the video are now much more mainstream and may even seem tame compared to some of the crazy exercises you can see on-line. So for some people already ingrained and well versed with some of the more popular workout styles as of this writing, could get a ho-hum feel.
It might be like when Hollywood remakes a classic movie, and people who aren’t familiar with the original gravitate to the newer version whereas people who grew up with the original, tend to think more highly of the the original.

A great value. A wide range of fundamentals are covered, at a very useful level of detail. Also plenty of useful tips / tricks that I’ve never seen elsewhere. I’m glad to have the chance to review this as it’s a good reminder to revisit several sections.
